Chief Executive, The Engagement Council

Winsome maclaurinWinsome MacLaurin (nee Grigor) joined The Environment Council four years ago and recently became the organisation’s Chief Executive.  She has been working in the field of engagement for over ten years, beginning with the management of community consultation with Australian Aboriginal people on their health priorities.  This process married ground-up grass-roots engagement with top-down strategic health planning and gave her in depth and real understanding of engagement at its most powerful and at its least effective.

Winsome moved to the UK in 2000 and worked for various blue-chip companies before making the decision to move to the Third Sector, and has never looked back.  During her time with The Environment Council she has lead on designing, facilitating and training engagement for a spectrum of organisations and from as few as four people, to as many as 100.  She is a dedicated advocate of the principle that the most holistic and best-informed conversations yield the most sustainable outcomes.
